Ascend P1 Specs - First 4G LTE Phone In India

Airtel and Huawei have launched the first 4G LTE capable phone in India, called Ascend P1. The specifications of the phone are as follows -

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.5GHz
Display: 4.3-inch AMOLED qHD
RAM: 1GB
Memory: 4GB, microSD card slot
Camera: 8-megapixel rear, 1.3-megapixel front-facing
Connectivity: Wi-Fi, 4G LTE on Airtel
OS: Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich

It's interesting to note that 4G LTE network is not available all over India. Airtel was the first company to launch 4G in Kolkata followed by Bangalore. But without a capable hardware, 4G speeds can't be enjoyed. Your regular 3G capable phone won't get the speed that 4G networks promise.

The pricing of the phone and exact launch date will be revealed later. Expect the phone to be available in retail stores around Diwali time. Airtel has confirmed that the phone won't be locked to their network.
