Apple's MacBook Update Released, New Rose Gold Color Variant Unveiled At $1299

Apple once again wooed people with the launch of a new, impressive, updated MacBook on Tuesday 19 April, 2016. It's the thinnest and lightest Mac ever made, possessing latest processor from Intel, better graphics, storage, and battery life. And this time, it will be available in an adorable rose gold color variant as well.

The updated MacBook inhabits the latest 6th Generation Intel Core M processor with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz (thanks to Intel's Turbo Boost Technology, it speeds up to 3.1 GHz and 1866 MHz memory). Also, it features Intel HD Graphics 515 and hence has improved performance by 25 per cent from the earlier Macs, and has 8GB of 1866 MHz LPDDR3 on-board flash memory.

Another improvement is the MacBook's new logic board. The new logic board is 67 per cent smaller than that of 11-inch MacBook Air. Though it doesn't affect the users much, it's surely a great milestone in technological aspect. It's also the first Mac without a fan. That's because Intel's Core M draws just 5 Watts, producing lesser heat, which eliminates the need of a fan or heat pipe.

Furthermore, it's got a compelling 12-inch Retina display which is just 0.88 mm thick, making it the thinnest Retina display ever on a Mac. With a 2304 x 1440 resolution, 16: 10 aspect ratio and 178 degree viewing angle, it's one of the finest display ever. Also, it's 13.1 mm thick and weighs 2lb, making it the thinnest and lightest MacBook. Apple claims a battery life of 'up to 10 hours'.

The new Mac comes with the latest OS X El Capitan, ensuring users a faster and responsive experience of the Mac. Like before, Mac has a single USB Type C port for data transfer, power and connectivity, and the Force Touch trackpad for more efficient use of this beautiful beast.

The MacBook comes in two variations, starting from $1,299 (Rs. 85,927) in silver, gold, space grey, or rose gold finish.

The base model has a 1.1 GHz dual core Intel Core M3 processor with Turbo Boost upto 2.2 GHz, 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of flash storage for $1,299 (Rs. 85, 927). The another one, which costs $1599 (Rs. 1,05,769) has 1.2 GHz Intel Core M5 processor with Turbo Boost upto 2.7 GHz and 512 GB on-board flash storage.

The biggest competition to the MacBook is HP Spectre - the thinnest laptop with 10.4mm thickness and with impressive power of Core i5 &i7, and the Microsoft's Surface Book, which not only possesses a comparable 6th Gen Intel Core i5 but also has the pen and touch input capabilities, paired up with simplicity of Windows Hello and Cortana.
