Apple Updates Macbook Air With Haswell; Promises Up To 12 Hour Battery Life
At Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2013, Apple Inc. unveiled updated versions of #-Link-Snipped-# shall run the OS X Mountain Lion equipped with power-efficient fourth generation Intel (Haswell) processors, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Intel HD Graphics 5000 and new flash storage.
The base model 11-inch MacBook Air comes with 1.3 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache, 4 GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 RAM and 128 GB of flash storage. The 128 GB model has been priced at 999 USD (58,093 INR) and the 256 GB model will cost 1,199 USD (69,723 INR). Apple has claimed that the 11-inch MacBook Air will have 9 hours backup while performing regular tasks and on a video loop on iTunes it will last up to 9 hours. The larger 13-inch base model will be shipped with the same processor and RAM and has been priced at $1,099 (63,908 INR) for the 128 GB and $1,299 (75,547 INR) for the 256 GB variant. The 13-inch version will now have 12 hours of battery life and has also been claimed to last up to 10 hours on video playback.
Interested buyers are also given the option to upgrade their MacBooks with 1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz), 8GB memory upgrade and 512GB of flash storage. Both MacBooks come with dual microphones, a FaceTime HD (720p) camera, a 10 Gbps Thunderbolt port, MagSafe 2 power port and two USB 3.0 ports. The 13-inch version will have an additional SDXC card slot.Both of these devices went on sale today.
Redesigned versions of the #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-# were also unveiled at the WWDC. Both of these devices preconfigured to work with OS X and iOS will feature high-powered radios and six-element beam-forming antenna arrays that provide three-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi with maximum data rate of 1.3 Gbps. The AirPort Extreme went on sale in the US today with a price tag of $199 (11,573 INR). The AirPort Time Capsule also went on sale today in the US and will be available in 2TB and 3TB variants that will cost $299 (17,389 INR) and $399 (23,205 INR) respectively.
