Apple Reveals iOS 8 At WWDC: Features, Device Compatibility & Availability Information Here
Since photography is such an important part of any smartphone, Apple has revamped the Photos and the iCloud Photo Library apps. The photos are arranged automatically on your device as well as on the cloud. With smarter editing apps, the Photos app can automatically straighten horizons, adjust colour and help with deeper fine tuning of photos. The iCloud Photo Library makes sure that all the adjustments done on the photos are reflected across all your devices.
To compete with rival messaging apps the native Messages app on iOS 8 has introduced features like Tap To Talk, gestures for fast sharing of photos, group messaging, location sharing, auto-delete and a do not disturb mode. Users can share and view multiple photos in a single message.
There is good news for fitness buffs as well, the Health app on iOS 8 combines all the data from wearables and apps and shows them at once place. This helps the health conscious to get an overview of all the data at a single place.
To make sure that users use the phrase âDamn you, autocorrect.â less often Apple has updated the QuickType keyboard by making it more personalised. The QuickType keyboard takes into account who you are speaking with and on which app. It tries to learn from your communication and suggest phrases for faster communication. Just a heads up, the keyboard learning is encrypted on your iDevice and never sent to Apple servers.
The biggest change in Appleâs policy can be seen with the new Family Sharing feature. Users can add up to six family members in this service that lets them share their iTunes, iBook and App Store purchases. Since Apple has landed in soup previously with accidental in-app purchases by children, it now allows parents to monitor these inadvertent activities with âAsk To Buyâ, which is parental permission for in-app purchases.
