Apple Pay In India. Soon!
Apple Pay simplifies the entire payment process at retail stores. The service aims at replacing your wallet with your phone. You need to have your credit card or debit card information stored with the Apple Pay service via Passbook (which by the way stored your boarding passes, tickets and coupons etc.). The service works with VISA, MasterCard and American Express based cards. At the time of payment, all you need to do is just bring your iPhone near the PoS machine and the system will deduct the amount directly from your credit card. It's that simple!
The technology makes use of NFC aka Near Field Communication. Your phone will authenticate you with the help of the biometric sensor available on the home button of your phone. Apple's latest Apple Watch too works with the technology and all you need to do is double-click the Digital Crown on your watch to make the payment by authenticating yourself.
It'd be interesting to see how Apple enters Indian markets. It's likely that Apple will form partnerships with the major retail chains in India to enable Apple Pay based payments. Do let us know your thoughts.
