Apple has waited long (really LOOOOONGG!) to launch its revamped iPod Touch, but a Apple Planning to Launch New $199 16GB iPod Touch With Rear Camera, Multiple Colors - MacRumorsreport suggests some new models launching pretty soon. As per the post, a $200 variant of iPod Touch 16GB, in the same color options as the high end iPods (pink, yellow, blue, silver, space grey and red), shall hit shelves next week. The new Touch is supposed to be better than the existing $230 model, and in its ultra-thin aluminum casing it includes a 5 megapixel iSight camera with 1080p HD video recording, 4-inch Retina Display, Apple A5 chip and FaceTime. The same features find themselves in the entire revamped lineup, including the 32GB and 64GB models, prices of which have been reduced to $249 and $299 respectively.

It's most likely that the current iPod Touch 16GB model shall be discontinued in favor of the new variant, or rather its prices shall be cut down drastically.

The new iPod Touch has iOS7, and houses over 200 applications including the Camera app filters that allows you to easily add real-time photo effects. Question is, for $200 or more, and with so many other similar products for half the price, is the iPod still equally appealing to you as it was a few years ago.

Hang on, the US price of the new model is $199 dollars (11,980.24 INR) but when it comes to India the price gets up FIVE thousand bucks? 😨 Why ??
I was so interested in getting my hands on one and even willing Rs. 13K for it. This is just idiotic. This would the cheapest way one could have enjoyed the colourful iOS 7 and iOS 8 this fall.
