  • News about Apple working on a heads-up display or video glasses has been around for the last few years and the company is busy gathering patents for their invention of the same. After #-Link-Snipped-# at Google I/O this year, this news is sure to garner views of comparison. Recently, the US Patent Office published a new patent application from Apple regarding a Retina Display-like quality display powered by a small battery for future video glasses.

Though this is just a 'design patent' and we don't even know whether it will ever get converted into an end product or not, but it seems interesting to think that Apple's efficient industrial designers and engineers are up to something innovative. This patent also talks about the invention being used in other types of display devices such as television sets, computer monitors, projection systems etc. We are looking forward to some word from Apple, but would like to read your guesses in the mean time. So, share your thoughts in comments.
