Angelina is an AI computer that develops video games on its own
If you couldn't beat your Nintendo in Othello at level 4, you're going to enjoy this news more. Say hello to Angelina - an artificially intelligent computer system that develops video games on its own! Angelina is a brainchild of Micheal Cook, a PhD research engineer at Imperial College's Computational Creativity Group. Angelina borrows code from existing video games and uses them in unique and novel ways to create new video games that have characters with special powers like jump, fly and bounce. Cool, right?

A Puzzling Present By Angelina[/caption]
Cook writes on the blog that Angelina's basic task is to start with a baseline - say a character from any existing video game. Angelina is then instructed about the goal the character needs to achieve, for example - jump on the wall and then find the exit. Angelina then uses its computing superpowers and studies how other video games accomplish similar tasks. It then 'borrows' the code from those games and develops a new game. Her most recent creation is called "A Puzzling Present".Â
Oh well, Angelina isn't money-minded and is offering the game free of cost on Android, Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. You may say thank you to Angelina on the source link.
