Android Makes It Way Into In-Car Infotainment Through Ca-Fi

Innotrends Ltd., a Hong Kong based company has set ready to release an in-car infotainment system Ca-Fi which works on Android mobile OS. This is the first Android based in-car infotainment system in the market, developed by this startup company which got founded only in march 2011. The company planned to make this product available in European market by the spring of 2012. This '2-DIN Car infotainment system' could set the in-car infotainment platform independent of Smartphones with a large number of applications that is already available in the Android market.

Android already become inseperable from the Smartphone and Tablet market, now entering a new era and sooner expected to become a common platform for all sort of mobile devices and equipments. This Ca-Fi system which has a 3G  modem would allow the users to surf the internet so that the users can download the applications they need. For now, there are more than 250.000 apps available to download for Ca-Fi including apps for navigation and fuel consumption monitoring. Furthermore, the device has Bluetooth hands-free calling, music streaming and can connect to steering wheel stereo controls.

Hardware of this system is also quite impressive with 6.2 inch touch screen LCD, with resolution of 800 * 480 pixels which has powered by The Freescaleâ„¢ Cartexâ„¢ A8 i.MX5x processors capable of running at a speed of 1.2 GHz. For music and other audio based functions this system got 4x45 watts audio system along with output connections for camera, USB and antennas. This Ca-Fi has designed to be compatible with all sorts of car with easy installation feature.
