AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7970 GHz Edition GPU Launched For $500

AMD on Friday launched its latest instalment to the AMD Radeon 7000 GHz Edition processor series with the new AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7970 GHz Edition video card, titled to be the world’s fastest Graphic Processing Unit, with a clock rate of 1000 MHz utilizing 2,048 stream processors and 3GB of GDDR5 memory by implementing AMD’s much acclaimed Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture to provide gamers an unmatched gaming experience. The AMD Raedon HD 7970 employs AMD’s App Acceleration technology to provide superior gameplay and enhanced video and file compression services.

Output ports include a HDMI port, a dual-link DVI and two Mini Display jacks; the processor is also equipped with PowerTune and Zero Core Power technologies. Though resembling much to its predecessor, the Radeon(TM) HD 7970 GHz Edition has higher memory bandwidth as well as higher pixel fill rate, and texture fill rate.

The AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7970 GHz Edition video card is priced at $500 and will be available to major board partners by next week.
