Alcatel's Go Play $230 Smartphone Is Dust/Shock/Water-Proof & Super-Durable
Alcatel's latest Go Play smartphone is every worst new-world nightmare-proof, and all this for AUD300 (US $230) only. The mid-range smartphone shall be made available for customers starting May, and is bang for the buck considering it's IP67 water and dust resistant, and even shatter-proof up to a height of 1.5 meters. With all these features packed within such a modest budget, parents may gift this phone to their active kids without having the most common of phone-damage worries.
IP67 water resistance signifies that the phone could be kept underwater as deep as 1 meter, for a time period of maximum 30 minutes. While high-end waterproof phones come with exposed connectors, the Go Play has tiny connectors covering both micro-USB port and headphone jack, which need to be sealed tight before submerging the phone.
Running Android Lollipop 5.0, Go Play has a 5-inch HD screen with 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, which can click pictures and shoot videos underwater (deep up to the given limit). There's an 8GB ROM with 4GB internal memory expandable to 32GB using microSD. The 2,500mAh battery allows for 20 days of standby time, 8.3 hours of talk time and 55 hours of music playback. There are five color options on this phone - yellow-lime-green, white-orange, red-black, orange-blue and black/grey, all bright good-vibed alternatives.
