Is there any difference between an aircraft propulsion engine and a jet propulsion engine.

well actually jet propulsion is a broader term and aircraft propulsion is only a part of it.

jet propulsion include engines for aircraft, such as the turbofan, turbojet and turbo-prop engines.(this is air-craft propulsion).

it also includes engines for missiles such as the ram-jet engine and pulse-jet engines.

Both propulsion system n IC engine is far different in their respective working, so wat i believe is dat its really hard to say which one is better. Because both have there advantages n disadvantages as well in term of their working.

Check the P-v diagrams of propulsion system and IC engine.. U can understand the difference.. If u cant find any diff.. both are same... Advantages talks about thermal and mechanical efficiencies..

IC engines have a lot of moving parts. So can we say in terms of energy efficency, that propulsion is better

well i think the turbo-prop engine has an equal number of moving parts.
