AIR BORNE WI-FI TURBINE
Project Abstract / Summary :
Air borne Wi-Fi turbine is turbine in which rotor supported in air by means of large helium balloon where the rotor is in the middle of the balloon. For making the balloon stable in air, high strength tether (rope) is used. Solar stickers are placed over the helium balloon which is used to supply power to the Wi-Fi transmitter additional power is stored in a battery. By this project we are reducing the cost of the wind turbine, increase the power production and efficiency compared to conventional wind turbine.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : Electricity shortage and poor network connectivity have become serious menaces for the people these days. Energy is obtained mostly by utilizing nonrenewable sources of energy. Due to the limited availability of these resources and due to inefficient modes of production, there arises a situation wherein the energy produced doesn’t meet the actual energy requirement. By implementing effective harvesting methods of renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy, etc., the rapid depletion of non-renewable energy sources can be slowed down. Another major aspect of today’s modern world is network connectivity. It is clearly impossible to manage a day without internet. So, if there is a device which can generate electricity and also provide network connectivity, it would be of great help to the country and its people. With this noble aim we have
come up with a new technology, “Air-borne Wi-Fi Turbine”.
Project Highlights : The airborne Wi-Fi turbine may not be a cure for the whole earth’s energy crisis but it sure looks like a concept that will eventually fly. Thus we are up with this project to generate power at low cost that is sourced from renewable energy. It is eco-friendly, easily portable and can be installed anywhere such as areas prone to natural disasters, where power supply is necessary. Thus, Air borne Wi-Fi turbine will eventually fly.
