You don't know? Reliance, Tata Indicom, Virgin, all had CDMA service. The Reliance basically started with the CDMA service only.

Besides, the new dongles, which uses EVDO are also based on CDMA.

    Steven BrooksHello Community,

CDMA is Code-Division Multiple Access abbreviation, full known as Code Division Multiple Access, is a more advanced digital interface technology, which is characterized by a high frequency of utilization, mobile low power consumption, good quality voice calls.
Compared with GSM phones, CDMA mobile phone has the following advantages:

    1. Outstanding Voice and Call Quality
    2. Greatest Coverage for Lower Cost
    3. Packet Data
    4. Longer Talk Time, Longer Battery Life and Smaller Phones
    5. Rapid Deployment
    6. Continuing Technology Advances
    7. Wide Product Selection

    Thanks and Regards,
    Steven Brooks

Please explain how it have high frequency utilization when pseudo random codes are added and considering it uses spread spectrum modulation?

we use dc (battery) supply for mobiles ...... will frequency comes in dc source?????

You're mixing up the things. The supply doesn't play any role. GSM as well requires frequency. Its totally unrelated to modulation technique used. There's separate oscillator circuits for that work.

cdma draws more power compare to gsm mobile phones.because of property and accessing criteria of cdma.according to technology everyone is allocated with unique code access while in communicating, but in gsm it wont happen and more over cdma as more security compare to gsm phones.
but only one disadvantage in cdma is more power is consumed by a phone for searching signal across areas,it wont applicable in gsm technology.
you can also search this site for advance concepts in gsm and cdma

do we need capacitor to operate the frequency ?????

well this is not simple circuitory you are taking about

most cell phones have special tuners which use varactors instead of capacitors

by the way what is your confusion why this post here in the heading CDMA

capacitor is used for block the frequency,in the sense reduce the frequency components not for operate....

then why variable capacitor is used in radio circuits (for tuning )

naveeethen why variable capacitor is used in radio circuits (for tuning )

variable frequencies are old fashioned they are out dated

now voltage dependant caps are used

variable caps are used for frequency selection purpose

do not concern about freq. generation in mobile. its done internally through crystal oscillator. we just apply d.c. supply(with battery).
remember uController, supply is d.c. but freq. is generated by crystal.

main diff. b/w cdma and gsm, cdma has only one freq. over diff. cells; while in gsm all cell areas are given diff. freq. allocation or commn.

for the purpose of resonance criteria we can observe the frequency tuning and selection, and also we can observe the voltage depending capacitor like 1uf of 100v .example FM radios where frequency tuning is happen with respect to desired frequency to match.that's why we can listen clealy across matched frequency and apart nothing.it can be applicable in all frequency selection modules.
