Adobe Announces 6 Powerful Creativity Tablet Apps

Adobe aims to make available more tools for creativity on tablets and has thus announced six tablet-optimized apps. These new apps will bring professional-level creativity to millions of tablet users. The apps address multiple areas of the creative process: image editing, ideation, sketching, website and mobile app prototyping and presenting finished work.

Topping the list of these new apps is of course Photoshop Touch that brings the image editing features of the powerful desktop Photoshop software to tablet devices. Amongst the new tablet customized features, is the Scribble Selection Tool that allows users to easily extract objects in an image using their finger. It also has Facebook integration for easy sharing and Google Search and can sync to Adobe's Creative Cloud.

There is a variety of other apps, including Adobe Collage, which lets you import photos and provides drawing tools to create image collages. There’s Adobe Debut which is presentation software for Creative Suites files, Adobe Ideas for vector-based drawing tools, Adobe Kuler for color theme creation, and Adobe Proto for websites and mobile apps prototyping.

Adobe Touch Apps are essential components of Adobe Creative Cloud, a major new company initiative also announced on 3rd October 2011.The apps will all be integrated with Adobe’s Creative Cloud, which will allow the company’s desktop and mobile apps to sync and share content. Users can easily grab and share images without leaving the apps due to integrations with Facebook and Google.

Adobe Creative Cloud will allow millions to access desktop and tablet applications and share their best work. Files created via Adobe Touch Apps can be shared, viewed across devices or transferred into Adobe Creative Suite software for further refinement

The apps will cost $9.99 each. They will be released first for Android starting next month. The release dates for the iPad versions may not be until early 2012.
