.net is easier than java
it includes(c#,asp.net,ado.net...)
it has a grt tool visual studio2005/2008 which is avilable free of cost at microsoft website.
try the "head first" book for starting ...
its a great book...
u can also download it

Working on dotnet is quite easy. I guess you can learn that without any guidance but before that you need to learn the basic ".Net Framework" What actually it is? For this you definitely need a good guide(or any good book also can be helpful) in starting. 😀

apress books /wrox publications books are also good ....be sure u r taking only beginner level book....there is detail abt .net technology

.net is better than then java because this is very secure programing language.
it has a grt tool visual studio2005/2008 which is avilable free of cost at microsoft website.this is user friendly language .
