Aadhaar smartphones to every poor Indian - WTF?

The Indian Government is quite innovative in terms of the new ideas they come up with. The latest update is that the GOI is planning to offer Aadhaar enabled smartphones to approximately 400 million poor Indians. The phones will have 100 hrs of free talk time, 500 free SMS, free Internet and low rental plan.

Expect a lot of begging for food on Facebook & twitter status updates like "gt leftover cake 4 ma bday".

    Posting an update: In order to be 'eligible', people will need to have Aadhaar card and an account in bank or post office. I sense another scam in progress.

    Lot of riches (for Rajas) Below the Poverty Line. At least there seems to be no poverty of ideas (one can always get Aadhar idea) of scamming.

    I would add only a cent here. Guys Indian economy is fluctuating much due to western incidents. In ths unstable circumstance this idea is not so wise cos they are additional loads to the already debt ridden poor finance of our nation.

    This is a financial Suicide I would say really a poor idea now

    Indians don't need any enemies they themselves are their own

    LOL 😀

    I guess even those smart phones run on Android. The most ironic thing would be if these phones get OS update quicker than other high end phones.
