There are a total of 5 caps. 3 Red and 2 White. And there are 3 boys, standing in a line one after the other. Each of the three are blind folded and are made to wear a cap out of the 5 caps. And then the folds are opened.

None can see the color of the cap they are wearing. But, 2nd boy can see the cap on first boy, and 3rd boy can see caps of 1st and 2nd boy. 1st boy cannot see anybody's cap.

Each of the three boys knows they are wearing the caps amongst the 5.

When asked to 3rd boy the color of his cap, he says - Can't say.
The 2nd boy also says- Can't say.

What is the color of the cap the first boy is wearing?

If both first and second boys were wearing white, then the third must have figured out that his own cap is red. Since the third said he couldn't say what color his cap was, then between the first and second boys, it should be either both red one white and one red.

Now, the second boy would have figured this out. So, if the first boy was wearing white, he would have known his own cap was red, since that is the only possibility.. But he said he couldn't say. That should mean that the first boy was wearing a red cap, and so the second guy was not sure whether his own cap was white or red.

So, the color of the first boy's cap is red. 😀
