3D Head Tracker using Generic Webcam--as a Final Year Project.

Hello.... I am a fourth year Computer Engineering student and i am thinking of taking my final year project as 3D head detector using generic webcam or using IR source and IR cam...I need some guidelines regarding how should i proceed and will this project be good....Plz Ingineous HELP ME......
