2012 - A Truly Crazy Year 3D Printing Wise and Otherwise

At CE, we spent the past year covering all kinds of technology and research news. But, what really stuck with us amidst that tablet-hullaballoo was the revolution called '3D printing'. The most remarkable innovations and startups revolved around that tech. And we are just looking to seek more of it in the coming days. So, here's a year that was all crazy and up for 3D printing technology, in a hindsight -

When so much is happening in the 3D Print world, Disney Imagineers had something unique, as usual, to offer. The researchers from Disney brought for us a new 3D printing technology called the ‘Printed Optics’ that enable sensing, display, and illumination elements to be directly embedded in the casing or mechanical structure of an interactive device.
