We've been hearing the news that Apple's Tim Cook will announce the smaller, 13" MacBook Pro fitted with the gorgeous Retina Display at the upcoming Apple event this month. The Apple event has become the talk of the I-town because of the rumoured  7" iPad-mini. 9to5Mac folks say that they've obtained the confirmation from a source closer to a high profile US retailer. Apple had announce the release of 15" MacBook Pro back in June and those who've laid their eyes on the gorgeous Retina display (the same display appears on latest models of iPhone too) say that they won't ever shell out a single buck on non-Retina displays.

It's being learned that the 13" MacBook Pro with Retina display will be shipped in two versions of different processor sizes and storage capacities. The device is expected to be available for purchase immediately after the announcement. The internal codename for the 15" MacBook Pro was 'D2', and the 13" model is called 'D1'. The exact details of the hardware aren't available yet. The price of the new 13" MacBook Pro with Retina Display will be higher than the one without Retina.

The innovations in the display technologies have led the gadget leaders like Apple and Samsung to make the high-end displays 'default' in their latest mobile devices. Now the technology enables mass production of these high end displays in bigger sizes. We're sure that we aren't far away from Apple announcing iMacs with Retina Display. Stay tuned, the date is 23 October!
