11.4 Lakh PAN cards deactivated: Check your PAN Active or Not?

In written reply to the RajyaSabha by minister of state for finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar, 11.44 lakhs of PAN Card has been deleted/deactivated.
Many people have been found holding Multiple PAN's. Also, Lot of PAN's with false identities have been found. These are being misused to create and support fake identities.
The Assessing Officer has authority to delete/deactivate PAN with the help of Software Application.
I am sharing how to check if your PAN is Active or not as the above news may create confusion for you. Please follow below steps:

1. Log on to #-Link-Snipped-# Website and Click on Know your PAN tab.
2. You will be redirected to a new page. fill out your details like surname, middle name , your name, DOB, Status & Enter.
3. You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number. Enter the OTP received & Click on Validate.
4. If your PAN card details haven't been duplicated or issued to multiple people, the lat Remarks tab will show your PAN Card status as Active.
5. In case its been duplicated/issued to multiple people, A pop up message will appear displaying There are multiple records for this query. Provide additional information. In this case you need to mentioned asked additional details.

Please ensure your PAN is Not issued to multiple people or deactivated using above steps. 😀
