$1000 Bonus Shares To IBM Employees [Bad News As Well]

IBM will celebrate 100 years on June 16 by awarding $1000 bonus shares to all its employees in Indian offices. IBM has 128k employees in India. $1,000 of IBM stock bonus will translate into stock units each valued at around $159 on the NYSE.

The criteria is as follows :-

All IBM employees (regular & part-time) as on 31 December 2010 will be eligible for the bonus.

The bad news is that these stock incentives won't vest until 2015 so if you quit IBM before June 16, 2015, won't won't be eligible.

Hah! $1000 is peanuts as compared to what IBM employees will make if they switch jobs.
