Why do we manually approve CrazyEngineers membership requests?

I thought I'd ask this frequently asked question for the benefit of all our potential members.
A bit of history -
CrazyEngineers has been in existence since November 2005. We've always offered free membership to every engineer who wanted to become a part of the community.
Over the years, we noticed that the community gathered a lot of spammers, one-post wonders and trollers. At the same time, this community has been blessed with exceptional engineers who often went out of their way to help others, without expecting anything return.
We have taken a cautious approach to only allow members who genuinely want to be a member of CE family and contribute to the community through rich content.
Fill up the form if you want to become a part of this exclusive community. I'll soon release the 'profile' feature to showcase our exceptional engineers who're a part of this community.
The acceptance rate as of now is < 0.5%. Each application is manually reviewed and members are hand-picked.
It's our commitment to keeping this community amazing for all its members.

Can an engineer become a doctor? If you got forced into studying engineering and want to go back to your first love - medicine (MBBS), what are your options? Let's discuss.
Yes, an engineer can become a doctor. But it won't be easy. Engineering degrees worldwide are mostly 4-year degree courses and medicine too requires an average of 4-5 years followed by mandatory internship. Not everyone has the patience, money and time to dedicate a decade only to learning.

Can data engineer work from home? Or do they have to be physically present at the work-site to get their data engineering job done? Let me answer this commonly asked question.
A data engineer can definitely work from home. The role of data engineer does not require the engineer to be physically present on-site. Why? because 99% of the data engineering work happens in the cloud. All you'll need is a strong Internet connection and credentials to login to your cloud accounts to build data pipelines.
