  • Electrical engineers are often asked "Why did you choose electrical engineering?" during interviews. Unfortunately, not many are prepared to answer it.

    I was asked the same question and here's how I answered it -

    "Nikola Tesla is my inspiration. I think he's one of the greatest inventor of modern times and he's an electrical engineer. When I was a kid, I liked breaking up my toys only to figure out all the electrical wizardry inside it.

    As a kid, I've spent hours trying to build a electric motor. I've had shocks when I built my first microphone using off the shelf tools.

    As I studied electrical engineering, I think this is the best branch that prepares you for almost every engineering domain. Even though it's one of the most difficult engineering branch to study, I like EE. Today, I'm in software domain; but still banking on the skills I picked during my electrical engineering studies."
