Xiaomi's Leak Digest – Know Everything About The Mi 6, Mi 5C And Mi Mix 2

Xiaomi has been in the news for quite a while. The exit of Hugo Barra and the election of Manu Jain as the new VP has contributed much to it. However, none of these have retarded their motto to launch a new device in the upcoming months. Mi 6, the much anticipated device from Xiaomi, has been rumored to surface in March, 2017 and its leaked specifications are already making the rounds. Another one, the Mi 5C, which has already featured in many third party websites, is also in the news because of its unique specifications. Also a recent confirmation from Xiaomi about the production of Mi Mix 2 made the count reach 3 for 2017, hinting that this year will again stand out as the year of Xiaomi devices. Xiaomi Mi 6 – Is it going to feature an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor?

Expected to launch in March this year, Xiaomi Mi 6, as mentioned, is the much anticipated smartphone of 2017. Rumored to come out in 3 different variants with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor at the back, the recent leaks have cut down the expectations to 2 variants with absence of such a sensor. A user from the Chinese micro blogging website, Weibo, has supported it and revealed other important specifications along with some recent pictures of Mi 6. The smartphone seems to have a 5.2 inch full HD LCD screen with a flat top display.


Xiaomi Mi 6 - First Look

It is said to be available in two variants – one with Full HD and another with Quad HD resolution, hinting towards the Google Day Dream and VR support. Processor wise, the phone is tipped to feature a Helio X30 SoC and a Snapdragon 835 SoC and may come at a price of 1,999 and 2,999 Yuan respectively. The former is expected to be the standard version whereas the latter as the premium variant. Apart from that, the latter one is expected to be available in 4GB / 6GB RAM variant. An 8 MP front camera and a rear 12 MP camera with Sony IMX386 sensor is also in the list of specifications, expected to be flaunted by this device. However, its only a matter of time for the rumors to be validated as it is expected to be launched soon after the MWC 2K17.

Yes, you read it right! Xiaomi Mi 5C is going to flaunt a button-less front surface with front camera aligned to the top left. Credit goes to Chinese website, Weibo, where the pictures of the latest Mi 5C are still circulating. Apart from the absence of a physical home button, the phone is expected to feature the all new Xiaomi’s Octa-Core Pine Cone Processor along with a 5.5 ‘ narrow bezel screen. It is expected to feature a 3GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage with Android Marshmallow OS plus MIUI8 skin. Although the camera specs aren’t yet clear, rumors suggest it to be same as that of Mi 6. Tipped to have a battery of 3,200 mAh, the phone is expected to come at a price of 1,499 Yuan.

Rumors were right, as Xiaomi, recently confirmed the news about the ongoing production of Mi Mix 2 handsets. Lei Jun, Company's CEO and founder, recently confirmed the news about the Mi Mix 2 and their tie up with French designer Phillippe Stark for its development. Expected to be a more bezel – less futuristic phone, the phone surely will have features much more than that of its predecessor Mi Mix. Still in production, there is no news about its specifications and features, however, leakers are on their way to come out with any bit of information.

Hence, with three devices in the line, it is difficult right now to say which one will be good for the users to go for. However, users have always welcomed the Xiaomi devices and these upcoming devices with their affordable price range is expected to make more impact than that their predecessor series. By giving a miss at this year’s MWC 2017, Xiaomi has hinted towards a press conference event for covering the Mi 6 release. But people are expecting more to be unveiled even before the end of MWC 2K17.
