Xiaomi Launches Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus In China With Some Amazing Features

Xiaomi has delivered on its promise and the rumours have proven to be correct with the launch of Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus. One of the highlights of the Xiaomi Mi 5S is that the fingerprint sensor which resides under the glass without any physical button to distinguish it. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor indentifies fingerprints using ultrasonic scanning with over 10000 micro seismic sensors. This means you have to apply pressure on the glass to scan your fingerprint. Both the Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus have been equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset that houses a 2.15GHz processor setup with two 2.35GHz and two 1.6GHz Kryo processors and Adreno 530 GPU.

Coming first to the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus which sports a 5.7inch display with a 2.5D curved glass for good looks and grip. This is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to sport a dual camera setup. The dual camera setup works very similar to the #-Link-Snipped-#. One of the 13MP cameras from Sony is a monochrome sensor that captures the black and white images which are rich in light and the second 13MP sensor which is also from Sony superimposes the colour images to generate the final image. The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is powered by 3800mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 from Qualcomm. The metal brushed body also houses a USB Type C port. The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus will be sold in two variants, the one with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM will cost you $344 and the one with 6GB RAM+ 128 GB ROM will set you back by $389.

We now come to the cheaper Xiaomi Mi 5S which has the same processor as the former but that clocks in at 2.15GHz instead of 2.35GHz costs $299 for the 3GB RAM, 64 GB ROM and 3D glass body. The one with 3D Ceramic body with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory will cost you $345. While this one does not have the brilliant dual camera setup you get a Sony IMX378 1/2.3" CMOS sensor on the rear with a resolution of 12MP. On the front you get a rather simple 4MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle capture and real-time video beautification at up to 1080p. The Xiaomi Mi 5S is powered by a slightly smaller 3200mAh battery. The Xiaomi Mi 5S sports a 5.15inch full HD resolution display.
