Smart Applications Are Meant To Be "Smart" With New Theoretical Upgradation

Does your smartphone irritate you? Not a clear question. I am not sure if all the applications in our “smart” phone actually understand us or far away from being empathetic to human minds. But eventually today’s world is targeting every piece of metal or virtual substance to transform it to a genius, life-like, artificial creation (yet to be a creature) that could work with us, hand in hand, to make a prophecy, holding the key to our future. While a section is putting efforts to give this mission a structure with nuts and bolts, others are taking the utmost interest in making man-made applications with a man-brain.

Scientists from Umea University at Sweden have speculated a theoretical model that unveils the true color of an application in terms of being the best companion of humans, taking a tab on not only basic rather complex daily activities. Concurrent systems are strictly fact based, they extract information related to walking, sleeping, sitting or monitor specific task. But what if, we can envision a system which performs the back-end analysis of that? Suppose someone walks 5 km/day and this information is provided by his smart band and corresponding software. What’s after that? The person has to manually calculate or entrusting his intuition, determine whether or not it has helped him to secure the target.

According to the team the prospect of applications should not be limited to such boundaries. Esteban Guerrero, team leader has mentioned how they have arrived at a decisional documentation which enlists activity-based augmented theory orientated applications that not only follow manual instructions but also judge their effects depending on surroundings, social elements, psychological factors etc. The team extensively manipulated proprietary algorithms to generate a presumably effective method which can handle randomness and predictability plus provides a solution, individually specific for a certain one.

While developing, the team incorporated an initial check-point mostly used by therapists which further prompted to fabricate generic processes. Ultimately, all these together were tightly mixed to spice up the latest research framework created. The results were already implemented in mobile applications as a self-sufficient activity tracker for older adults.

These revised applications could be used as personal medical assistants in home and foster growth of supportive system, evaluating capacity and performance in exercises which puts statistics unveiling aspects of strength and balance. The project was undertaken in collaboration with physiotherapists at the department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation at Umea University and the detailed report was published in internal university computer science publication with distinct ORCiD 0000-0002-6035-800X.
