The Micromax Canvas Evok was launched recently in the country and it comes with decent specs at an entry-level price. The Micromax Canvas Evok sports a 5.5inch HD (1280 x 768 pixels) resolution display which has a pixels per inch figure of 267 and is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The company has added a 2.5D curved glass on the Micromax Canvas Evok so that it looks good and is easier to grip.
Micromax has ditched MediaTek and opted to go for a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor on the Canvas Evok. We find a Snapdragon 415 chipset that houses a 1.4GHz octa-core ARM Cortex A53 processor, Adreno 405 GPU and impressively 3GB of RAM. The Micromax Canvas Evok has an internal memory of 16GB out of which 10GB is left for the user. You can also use microSD cards of up to 64GB to expand the storage. Coming to the cameras, we have a large 13MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and a front fixed focus 5MP sensor on the front.
This Android Lollipop smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery that promises 337 hours of standby and 10 hours of talk time. The Micromax Canvas Evok features connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB. The sensor list on the Micromax Canvas Evok includes G-sensor, proximity and light sensor. The Micromax Canvas Evok has a hybrid dual SIM slot which means you can use one SIM card and a microSD card or two SIM cards. The smartphone has gone on sale in retail markets for Rs. 8,499.
