Meizu unveils Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus with Dual Screens and Dual Rear Cameras setup

Meizu has recently unveiled its two new flagship devices dubbed Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus in China. The USP of the handsets are the dual screens, a 1.9-inch secondary Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 307ppi and dual rear cameras setup. The front of both the phones features a fingerprint scanner under the main display. The Pro 7 duo runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based on Flyme OS 6 and would start retailing from August 5 in China. Pro 7 will be priced at RMB 2,880 (approx. Rs 27,500) for the base variant whereas the 128GB/4GB storage option comes for RMB 3,380 (approx. Rs 32,300). Meizu Pro 7 Plus comes priced at RMB 3,580 (approx. Rs 34,200) for the base variant while its more advanced version comes for RMB 4,080 (approx. Rs 39,000).

As for the specifications, Pro 7 being smaller of the two devices, sports a primary 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display while the secondary display is a full-color display and enables functions as checking notifications, weather, clock, simple gaming, controlling the music player and snapping selfies with the main camera. It is being offered in two processor variants- one powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor along with Mali-T880 GPU, while the other features a deca-core MediaTek Helio X30 processor with PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 GPU. Pro 7 further houses 4 GB of RAM and comes in 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with mCharge 3.0 technology.

Pro 7 Plus, the larger of the two smartphones, boasts of a bigger and brighter 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Meizu Pro 7 Plus also becomes the first phone to use the Helio X30 – a 10nm chipset with a 10-core processor clocked at 2.6GHz. The phone is supported by a 6 GB of RAM and comes with 64 GB and 128 GB of storage variants. The Plus has 3,500mAh battery capacity with fast charging mCharge 4.0. Both phones house a standard 3.5mm audio jack and an dedicated audio processing chip for improved audio quality. Further these pair of devices support 4G VoLTE, WiFI 802.11.ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, dual-SIM and USB Type-C port.

Camera-wise, both the devices feature rear cameras which come with a combination of 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensors out of which one is used to taking monochrome pictures, while other captures RGB colours. The cameras further come with aperture f/2.0, 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, both the devices sport a 16-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling.

Meizu Pro 7 would be offered in Gold, Red and Black colored variants while Pro 7 Plus would sale in space black, matte black, amber gold and crystal silver variants. There is no official announcement regarding the launch of smartphones for other international markets.
