LG unveils K5, K8 in midrange K series Smartphones
The South Korean giant has so far launched K4, K7 and K10 in its novel K-series range of smartphones. K5 and K8 are latest in the offering, boasting the company's new user interface and an advanced camera without a premium price tag. K8 features a back cover made of woven material and a 2.5D Arc Glass feature enabling a secure grip with smooth curved edges. A 5-inch HD display with In-cell Touch, comes with a 1.3GHz Quad-Core chipset, 2125 mAh removable battery, and 1.5 gigs of memory.

The RAM specifications vary according to the markets, the company has specified; 1.5GB being for EU and North America and 1GB of RAM in Latin America. The device is available in three colors viz. Gold, Indigo and White. The phones will ship with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. On photography front its packed with a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. The connectivity options include 4G LTE apart from Wi Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and Micro-USB.
LG K5 also boasts of 5-inch display, featuring a FWVGA (854 x 480) pixel resolution while K8 has an HD resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. It packs a RAM of 1 GB, in built storage capacity of 8 GB with a microSD slot, and removable battery of 1,900 mAh. Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop it will be available in Gold, Silver, and Titan colours.
It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front one with support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB. There is no support for 4G LTE connectivity.
Both the devices are touted to be rolling out for key markets this week. LG K5 will go on sale in Europe, CIS, and Latin America while K8, will be available for Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America markets. The pricing details are not yet clear for the devices.
