Latest Telegram Update brings support for Multiple accounts, Quick replies and Theme features

Telegram, a non-profit cloud-based instant messaging service, in its newest update version 4.7 has added support for multiple accounts for Android, while iOS platform gets four different 'Themes' feature. The different themes in the Appearance settings, include a minimalistic Day theme along with two Dark themes- Night and Night Blue. The Day theme also allows the users to pick an accent color for the entire app, like pink or purple.

Since the Android Telegram version already had support for multiple themes unlike iOS, the new update now introduces the Multiple accounts feature for the Android platform. Users can add up to three accounts with different phone numbers to the Telegram app and the side menu allows for a quick switch between them. Meanwhile notifications would keep coming from all accounts, unless one changes this setting from the menu. Thus this update effectively negates the need to own three different Android devices to operate any of the said multiple accounts.

Treading on the similar path as that of WhatsApp’s, the new update also brings in support for quick replies on both Android and iOS platforms. To use them one needs to just swipe left ('Swipe to reply' feature) on any message in a chat. Telegram v4.7 is currently available for download on Android and iOS viaTelegram - Apps on Google Play and #-Link-Snipped-#, respectively.

This is the second time in a single month that the App has been updated. Earlier update of version of Telegram 4.6 had incorporated new granular settings for auto-downloading media, better link previews, albums in Secret Chats, improved security, and embeds for messages from public groups and channels. With the new update the App looks to compete with other popular instant messaging services as WhatsApp all the while aiming for an enriching user experience.
