Intel's Silvermont Atom-Processor Outperforms ARM Based Snapdragon 800.

Intel has been known for their x86 based powerful processors, but x86 based processors were never power efficient, and thus the intel's mobile processors couldn't make to the smart-phone domain.

Recently, the benchmark of the upcoming dual-core processor, Silvermont has been leaked.

Intel_Silvermont_Antutu
In Antutu benchmark, with it's dual-core (2 cores), each with 1.1 GHz of clock frequency has acquired 43,416 points, which is way ahead than almost all current processors. Even the latest ARM based processor, snapdragon 800 processor has acquired around 25,000 to 30,000 Antutu benchmark points. Mathematically, Silvermont is outperforming Snapdragon 800 by more than 30%.

A x86 based CPU based on 22nm manufacturing process will be giving 3 times performance improvement than the previous Atom processors alongwith dropping the power consumption by the huge margin.

With the Intel's Clovertrail Outperforming ARM Based Processors By Samsung,Nvidia & Qualcomm. and now Silvermont Atom-processor, seems like Intel is targeting the mobile devices.A threat to ARM!
