Although the press invites indicate the release of U Ultra model, which is a high-end flagship device, but U Play is also expected to be launched along with it. HTC is trying to bring something new to the flagship game with inclusion of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning in their UI. Called HTC Sense Companion, the feature is basically an AI personal assistant on the device, which uses machine learning to make the device more personal, somewhat like Google Assistant.

It also uses data from the cloud to further enhance user experience with alerts and notifications. The phone includes a 3-D glass design and a narrow 2-inch (160×1040 pixels) secondary display just above the above the main 5.7-inch, 2560 x 1440 display. The secondary screen utilises the AI capabilities to recommend contacts and apps by understanding more about your needs.

Coming to basic specification, the U Ultra has a 12-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus and optical image stabilisation and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The phone’s processing is handled by 4 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 821 chipset which is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include a USB-C connector supporting Quick Charge 3.0, fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Displays of 64GB and 128GB variants are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Sapphire glass coating respectively.

The HTC U Ultra will be available in Cosmetic Pink, Brilliant Black, Ice White and Sapphire Blue colours. Pricing will surely define its market stand though; 10k more than the sweet spot, I-phone7 becomes a better option and 10k lesser will make S8 (not yet launched) the choice to go for.
