FitBit Dongle not recognized by computer - Solution?

Fitbit devices are a pretty cool solution to reach your fitness goals. These wearable devices track every part of your day which may include various physical activities, exercises, calorie intakes etc. These devices sync with the app on your smartphone or on your personal computer to show a detailed analysis and help monitor your progress.
Now, what if the Fitbit dongle, which is used to establish a connection between your wearable Fitbit device and the computer is not recognized?

In cases where the fitbit device is not recognised by the computer after inserting the dongle, that maybe because there is a missing device driver on your PC.
  • To fix the issue, go to the #-Link-Snipped-# and download the fitbit connect app installer for your computer as per your operating system.
  • Double-click the downloaded file (with the .exe extension on Windows and .dmg on Mac) and proceed with the installation process.
  • Once installed, unplug the fitbit dongle and reinsert it into one of your USB ports.
  • Wait for the software to recognise your device.
  • Log in to your account and you are all set to use your fitbit device.
