Could someone suggest some topics for my mini project with simple programming and database.

I am new to android development. Can you someone suggest me what are the pre requisites for this ,I am a third yr btech student . Is SDK self sufficient for basic apps. What are the other requisites requires for app building?

The best way to start would be to try and attempt to re-create existing popular application. For example, you could simply create an application that lets you send messages to your contacts - like WhatsApp.

Yes, SDK is enough for basic apps. However, that assumes that you are not going to use server-side processing and your app focuses on the client only.

If your app idea involves server side processing; then you're going to need knowledge of server-side programming languages. There are several options; but the most popular these days are Ruby, Node, Python etc.

I'll say start with the very basic app you can think of and learn android programming on the go. That's the right way to get into Android programming.
