Asus Zenfone 5 - Is this the next Redmi Note 5 Pro killer ?

As this year's Mobile World Congress came to an end, we got to know about a lot of smartphones that will soon feature in the Indian market. Starting with the famous Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus which will be the first one to hit the Indian subcontinent, Asus, however, is the one which we will be really waiting for. The company has made a spectacular impact with its Zenfone line up at the MWC.The newly released Zenfone Series smartphones, especially the Zenfone 5 and 5z, have almost 98% full body display and a notch that reminds us about the flagship phones like the Essential and iPhone X. The company has added four new devices to the Zenfone 5 series line up, however, our discussion will be solely restricted to the specifications of Zenfone 5, which has all premium features like that of flagship smartphones, except the price.

Asus-Zenfone-5-5z
Asus Zenfone 5 and 5z comes with 98% screen area and a smaller notch

Asus Zenfone 5, the second smartphone after Redmi Note 5 Pro with the Snapdragon 636 processor, sports an almost bezel-less display. It comes with 6.2 inches Full HD plus screen with bezels almost similar to that of iPhone X. The device comes with 64 GB of internal storage and with RAM of up to 6GB. It comes with 12+8 MP dual primary camera with f 1.8 and f 2.2 aperture, Sony IMAX sensor and an LED flash for detailed capturing of photos under low light. The 8 MP camera has the ability to act as the wide angle lens and will assist in better depth sensing. It also has a front camera with 8 MP sensor with f 2.0 aperture. The phone is also powered by Artificial Intelligence and a lot of AI-based features will be present in the camera of the smartphone. Fueled by 3,300 mAh battery with AI charging support, the device comes with Android 8.0 Oreo, ZenUI 5.0 and almost no bloatware at all. Connectivity wise, it has almost all the connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB-C, etc. The device even offers a hybrid solution to manage dual SIM card and memory card slots which allows the scope of expanding the storage memory up to 128 GB. Almost all the sensors like Fingerprint Sensor, Proximity, Auto Brightness, Gyroscope, etc. are present onboard this device. The only one thing that is still not known is its price. However, Asus representatives at MWC have suggested the price of the premium variant i.e. the Asus Zenfone 5z, the 8GB RAM variant to be somewhere around the Rs 39,000 range. Considering that in mind, it is expected that the Zenfone 5 has a chance to be launched in the Indian market at a price point of around Rs 20,000.

Now the question comes - What if the device hits the Indian market at a price which is somewhere near the Rs 20,000? The obvious would be the lesser sale of iPhone X device. Given that the notch of Asus Zenfone 5 and 5z is smaller than that of iPhone X plus the fingerprint sensor as well as a fast responsive face-unlock feature, which is also present in the Zenfone 5, the price will surely play a key role for the people out there who will be in dilemma to choose between the two. Furthermore, the Asus Zenfone 5, which comes at a budget price range, its stellar design, and well-balanced hardware will straightaway slaughter the sale of Redmi and Moto devices that have just launched in the same price bracket.

Hence, it can be concluded that the Asus is all set to start big this year with its Zenfone 5 series. Given that there is no Apple launch scheduled to happen sooner this year, the smartphone has a great chance of replacing the iPhone X. About the Redmi Note 5 Pro, nothing can be said as the price will surely play a major role for people to choose between the Redmi and Zenfone 5. However, given that both Zenfone 5 and 5z have audio jack support, it is not wrong to say that the iPhone X killer has arrived.

I loved redmi note 5 pro but after reading this blog I can say that Asus zenfone 5 can be higher in performance than note 5 pro. I used an Asus phone earlier and got problems in it at that time I took help from the Asus support team to get it resolved.
