Asus Transformer AiO: A Dual-Boot Windows 8 And Android Tablet-PC

At Computex 2012, Asus unveiled the Transformer AiO. As the name suggests, it's a real transformer. The Transformer AiO is a dual boot PC and Tablet in a single unit. The desktop PC boasts of an Intel Ivy Bridge processor along with its own graphics chip. The display is a 18.4-inch widescreen unit which functions as a tablet upon being lifted from its base. It has a 10 point multi-touch display with LED backlit screen.

The dual boot all-in-one features Windows 8 for the PC Operating System and Android 4.0 (ICS) for the tablet. The sheer size of the screen gives it an unique advantage of enjoying applications like Cut the Rope and other Android apps a bit more than the conventional 10-inch tablets.

As said earlier, the screen can be lifted off its base to use anywhere but the data is transmitted from the base, which means you have to be in the transmission range of the base to use the tablet. No other specification details have been given by Asus nor there is any word on its pricing. It's availability can be expected after the commercial launch of Windows 8. The concept and design looks promising but how will it stand in the market is a thought to ponder upon.

Here's a hands-on video of the Transformer AiO:
