Google .blog, .app, .cloud Domains May Launch Soon

The generic top level domains .blog, .app, .cloud, .search etc. are being awarded by ICANN - the organisation responsible for the web addresses on the Internet. Google's applied for the above domain names and if it wins the rights to register the domains, it might just open those domains to non Google users. It's important to note that the companies that will win the rights to register these domains won't necessarily have to open them to public and may use them for their own use.

In a letter to ICANN, Google has expressed interest to open the registration of domains to general public. The company believes that these gTLDs can create a strong user experience for people.
