Determine characteristics for a DC motor

Hello guys,

So again I am stuck with my filament winding machine. Since the budget for the project is so small, I have to come by using components which the university allready have.

I got hold of a Nikko 24V 145W DC motor, and that is all. I cannot find any specification sheet on the motor or anything. They do not give its no load speed or torque. So I need to devise a plan to determine these characteristics on my own.

I would like to if you guys have suggestions for me? The one method I found on the internet is to attach the motor to a dynamometer. So I just hope the university have one of these I can use. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Thank you and regards,
Leon

Yep, dyno the motor. You can also take it to a place with a dyno and pay to have it done. have you tried the tech division of the manufacture, they should be able to give you the info if you call/ e-mail them.
