World's First Spherical Flying Machine For The Japanese James Bond

If you're bored of flying your R/C helicopters - Japan Ministry Of Defense has a new toy that may never land in your hands. The research wing of JMD has developed world's first spherical flying machine that can mimic helicopter but also land on any uneven surface. The Japanese engineers have fitted this flying machine with sensors which can keep the machine afloat even after hitting any obstacle and keep its altitude and speed intact. The machine seems to be ideal choice for spying on places where our traditional flying machines can't go. Being spherical, this machine can keep in touch with wall while flying. There's a propeller inside which provides the necessary lift to this machine and there are wings to keep the machine stable. The control surfaces enable the machine to roll on the ground after landing.

Any defense surveillance device would be incomplete with a set of cameras. This flying machine is equipped with cameras which can capture photos and transmit them to the control unit. Engineers have built this device from commercially available parts for about $1400. The machine can stay in the air for about 8 minutes and go from zero to 60 kmph in just few seconds. The whole assembly weighs 350 grams and measures 42 centimeters in diameter. The Japanese James Bond will go places with this machine for sure. Check out the video demo below -
