Why do you do what you do? - Answer that dangerous question, anyone?
I recently got acquainted with the term 'WDYDWYD' - It is the term short for Why Do You Do What You Do? A lot of things these days ask you to look inside, to introspect and to ask questions to yourself (for once) instead of the others. A friend once told me that when we start with the 'why' instead of 'how', we take a completely different approach to our undertaking.
Simon Sinek, the motivational speaker/author, has an entire website/workshop/book dedicated to the topic 'Start With Why'. He asks you to start with a why in everything you do. Do you know your Why? The purpose, cause, or belief that inspires you to do what you do?
I for one think that it is a dangerous question. Thousands of people roam about doing things every day without giving the 'why' any thought. Call it herd mentality or call it plain ignorance, there's something about the question 'why' that gets you thinking about the bigger picture.
Here's the sensitive, often-avoided question to all of you 'Why do you do what you do?' What's your answer to that?
