Here is what appears to be mind reading by inanimate objects. A formation of mechanical metronomes all beating at different times finally get into perfect synchrony. Well, near perfect with one (right wing!) rebel, who also joins the rank and file in a while.
Interestingly we found the same thing in biological cells.
Cells of the heart have a beat matching the heart beats. We collected the heart cells of foetus collected from a medical termination of pregnacy from the neighbouring hospital. The pathologist placed a fluorescent marker on these to visualise them better under the microscope. under the UV light the cells were randomly beating like the metronomes. Slowly one by one they synchronised till after a few minutes all were beating at the same frequency even though there was no physical contact between them.
