Network simulators for m tech

I am currently pursuing M tech thesis in advanced networking branch.

Kindly enlighten me with the network simulators that I can make use of in order to simulate my results and models.

it depends on your project. opnet and ns2 are two common sims. opnet needs licensing though also omnet++

I believe ns-2 is no longer being maintained. Perhaps can try ns-3?
