    thermocouples can measure it... they have range from -250 to 1250degc... even in furnaces where temp shoots upto 1100 deg c they use themocouples. the thermocouple is exposed to the high temp whereas the tranmitter instrument is not.. it is outside this temp range and the thermocouples are connected via TMUX mostly.
