Chinese Tech major Gionee has launched latest smartphone P5W in its Pioneer series, at a pocket-friendly price of Rs. 6,499 coming in 5 attractive colours such as white, black, blue, red and yellow. The device measures 143.3 x 72 x 8.9 mm and weighs 157 grams. The immersive user interface matches the phone’s body color and the combination can be changed using its Chameleon feature. The dual-SIM phone supports a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution featuring Oncell technology.
It runs on a Android V5.1 Lollipop (amigo 3.1) powered by a battery capacity of 2000 mAh Li-Ion. It aids talk time of 22 hr (2 G)/ 10 hr (3 G) and under the hood, there’s a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. It also features a 16 GB of on-board storage that is further expandable up to 128 GB.
On the camera front, there is a 5-megapixel auto focus with LED flash; rear snapper and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera offers all new beautification options, with in-built Face Beauty and filter-applications as also the panorama shots. The sensors embedded include Proximity sensor, G-sensor, E-Compass, Motion and Light sensor. A new customized lock feature (Ami locker), allows you to scan your face to unlock your phone within 0.5 Sec through a Face unlock feature. The connectivity options comprise of 3G/HSPA, EDGE,WLAN, Wifi-802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB 2.0; various Smart Gesture options include Pause alarm, Smart bright screen, black screen gesture, Double click to wake etc.
The company is targeting majorly the youth population of the country with this device given their penchant of carrying bright colorful phones. The budget bracket that it falls into also helps.
