Energy Of The Nation Presents Light Show Via Tweets For Olympics
Come Olympics and the high points or disappointment, surprises and triumphs shall all make rounds of the social media across the world within seconds. EDF Energy, one of the UKâs largest energy company together with Professor Mike Thelwall, from the University of Wolverhampton and a team of MIT graduates will be operating a light by the way the world tweets. The content of the tweets like hashtags and links inside the tweets that have words and phrases such as "Olympics" or "London 2012" or even emoticons will be filtered and an algorithm will convert the results into a pie chart that reflects positive or negative emotion of the people. Getting a bit emotional about the idea they have started calling it the "sentiment algorithm".

Each night during the games, the light show will start off by illuminating a proportion of the London Eye to represent the percentage of "positive energy" felt towards the games between 9 pm to 9:30 pm. We actually love the concept and think that the world will love it too. What do you think?
