The CKEditor developer team recently announced the launch of CKEditor 4.0 Gold version - advancing one of the most widely used WYSIWYG editor on the web a step further. I was bit surprised that the launch didn't get the publicity it deserves. Anyway, here's a quick overview of the new features in the latest version.
Inline Editing
Inline editing itself isn't very new, but CKEditor has now adopted it. This feature lets you edit any web-page inline - in its final form. This feature is HTML5 feature that replaces the traditional text-boxes (text area). Inline editing is meant to enhance your WYSIWYG experience.
Refreshing New Theme / Skin
CKEditor 4.0 brings a refreshing new skin that looks better across various devices and is easy to customize. The skin was chosen through a contest and the winning entry has been made the default theme of the latest version.
Updated Add-On Repository
All the plugins and add-ons will be available in the updated repository : #-Link-Snipped-#
