ASUS VivoMouse & VivoPC Unveiled At Computex 2013
If you have used Windows 8 on a non-touch computer, performing the gestures with the mouse seems awkward. Whether it's the task of closing an app or putting an app to the charms menu, you have to move the mouse quite a lot. Taking this into perspective, ASUS today has come up with the ASUS VivoMouse that combines ergonomics of mouse with touchpad input and wireless connectivity. A 3- point multi-touch circular touchpad sits on top of the standard mouse that can support all the Windows 8 multi-touch gestures. Thanks to its wireless connectivity, it can also be used as one handed control for living room PC. Going to the detailed tech specs, it has a 200 dpi sensor and operates wirelessly on 2.4 GHz wireless connection and measures 135 x 78 x 25.5 cm.
The VivoMouse was shown off at Computex, Taiwan in association with the companyâs compact HTPC, the Vivo PC. Underneath its stylish spun metal finish it comes with an unspecified Intel processor with Intel HD graphics and runs Windows 8. For easy expansion of storage, it comes with a sliding case cover that can be removed to expose the external drive bay that has two memory slots to accommodate 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA 6Gbps regular or solid state hard drives. In terms of connectivity it boasts of two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
Both of the above gadgets will make their way to the shelves in the US by the third quarter of 2013.
