Acer Liquid Jade S And Liquid Z410 - Two New Android Smartphones Arriving At CES 2015

With the upcoming CES, pre-CES leaks and announcements are imminent. Although not many companies use this platform to announce smartphones, Acer isn’t shying away from being different. Acer has announced that it is going to launch two decent entry-level smartphones in CES: Acer Liquid Jade S and Liquid Z410. Acer is expecting to replace the present Liquid Jade with the faster, octa-core processor Liquid Jade S and to provide LTE connectivity through the affordable Liquid Z410.

Acer Liquid Z410
It is evident that with the launch of Liquid Z410, Acer is trying to reach the lower-end of the consumer market as far as price is concerned. Z410 is a basic phone with the only extraordinary feature of being LTE enabled. That being said, it would be fair to say that the other specs of the device too are pretty neat. With a cost of only 129 euros, the device has a quarter-HD (qHD) display with the resolution of 540x960 pixels and a 64-bit quad-core processor. It has a back camera of 5 megapixels (MP) and a front camera of 2 MP along with a wide lens. Customizable actions and use of gestures is possible in the phone thanks to AcerRAPID and QuickTouch. The device will be available from February end in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Availability in other countries was not disclosed by Acer.

Acer Liquid Jade S
The second new phone announced by Acer is the Liquid Jade S which is a bit costlier than Z410 but is still on the affordable side. The best part about it is that it has a 64-bit octa-core processor. The device will have a 5-inch display having the IPS panel and a humble 720p resolution. The rear camera is of 13 MP with the aperture of f/1.8 while the front camera is 5 MP. Liquid Jade S too will have the 4G facility. All of this is wrapped together in the thickness of 7.78 mm. The special features of the device are that it has got voice-enabled photo capture facility and it has got AcerEXTEND which will allow the user to access the phone wirelessly via Windows PC. Currently it has got Android 4.4 but Acer has assured an update to Android 5.0 in 2015 itself. The phone will launch in EMEA in January and will be sold in black, white, pink and red colours. The starting price of the phone will be about 299 euros.

So these are the two offerings by Acer in CES 2015 as far as smartphones are concerned. Liquid Jade S has got some higher-end specs but is easy on the wallet while Liquid Z410 offers some decent features at an even more affordable price.
